SUMMARYRepairs machine shop tools, gauges, fixtures, jigs or dies using a variety of machining procedures and equipment for the use within the Company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following: Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks which requires a thorough knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, tools and equipment. Other duties may be assigned. Reads shop prints and sketches. Knowledge of all machines and machining procedures, lathes, mills, drills, jig bore, shaper, planer, grinders. Basic knowledge of single hit and multi-progression dies. Familiar with small tools, cutter grinding and set-ups. Uses all precision measuring instruments. Uses proper feeds and speeds applicable to all metal, ferrous and nonferrous. Performs layout and assembly of jigs and fixtures..Knowledge of use and set-up of index head and rotary table. Maintains clean and safe working conditions of machine and working area. Follows instructions of Master Tool and Die Maker. Overtime is required to meet production demands and can include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
