Training Process Leader, Supply Chain Mgmt



This role is responsible for the knowledge transfer of industry and supply chain best practices to internal Supply Management (SM) professionals as appropriate. Supports Textron Aviation’s Supply Management key objectives and other company initiatives while aiding other SM professionals. Work is performed under general supervision from leadership.


  1. Acts as Key Instructor for all Commodity Teams or Processes either virtually or classroom instructor led. Meets jointly with other contributors to review the status of Team’s strategic and tactical objectives/metrics. May provide leadership and evaluation for other instructors

  2. Communicates effectively and works together with team members to implement and meet strategic, sustaining, and planning training requirements. Maintains records of training activities, student progress, and qualification information. Updates course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance. Maintains training hub as a central location for all training communication

  3. Familiarizes self with:

  4. Supply Management processes to include planning, purchasing, sourcing, contracting, transition, and supplier improvement/development processes

  5. Supply Management policies, departmental instructions, regulatory audits, and knowledge of current systems utilized within the Supply Management organization that support current processes

  6. Quality, Receiving, Material Stores, and Manufacturing assembly processes for the receipt, inspection, stock, issue, and assembly of components

  7. Benchmark processes and process trends to improve productivity

  8. Supports all strategic initiatives. Shares accountability with Commodity Managers for the mutual success of Supply Management Leadership Team, ensuring the responsible implementation of all strategic and tactical objectives/metrics to optimize support to the factory, extended team members, and customers

  9. Meets with Managers on a regular basis to make decisions and review the status of Supply Management metrics regarding training requirements to meet specific metrics or accomplishing the assigned process or project. Supports Ad Hoc training requirements for individuals and teams

  10. Possesses the desire and capability to undertake both strategic and sustaining training for the Supply process. Requires ongoing training and development to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing environment

  11. Promotes professional and personal growth by consulting, teaching, and learning from other team members. Collaborates with peers on improving the performance of others to promote professional and personal growth. Maintains current knowledge on any trends by way of personal contact, industry reports, trade journals, magazines, etc.

  12. Provides a positive and open working environment where there is communication, clear direction, and specific desired results. Encourages teamwork and participates with team members effectively. Ability to work with team to continually improve system courseware and capabilities

  13. Drives employee engagement through listening and implementing solutions to employee concerns, productivity improvements, and eliminating roadblocks that limit productivity. Instruct and perform advanced troubleshooting

  14. Works under limited supervision to manage all training projects within area of responsibility. Establishes priorities and leverages all project resources. Identifies task dependencies and critical paths. Drives simplicity, common tools, and best practices

  15. Develops and conveys departmental standards and processes. Promotes and complies with published standards and processes. Conveys company and departmental objectives and direction to team members

  16. Provides periodic status reporting to management and team members

  17. Conducts presentations by preparing clear and well-organized material with appropriate level of detail for management and team members

  18. Utilizes data analytics processes to recognize improvement opportunities and coordinate with respective process owners to implement solutions

  19. Navigates SAP with a basic understanding of the tables and data relationships. Interprets system procedures and support training on new implementations and updates

  20. Creates and maintains business intelligence support using advanced technical skills over a variety of reporting platforms (Excel, Access, EDW, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc) as required

  21. Troubleshoots technical data failures and make recommendations for future preventative measures



  • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years supply chain management, corporate training/instruction, or related experience required
