A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION MANAGER
As a Transportation Manager, you play a critical role in keeping our fleet of trucks on the road to service our customers in and around the surrounding communities. You oversee the Fleet Manager and Route Supervisor in running the daily operations of the truck fleet. In addition to scheduling all outgoing finished products, you set the schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant.
You schedule all drivers for all routes, making changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency. In order to ensure that drivers are operating within regulations, you monitor DOT logs and driver timecards. You also help hire, train, and provide safety orientation for new drivers. You maintain current accounts and work to enlist new accounts within your designated area. You take pride in ensuring prompt, efficient, and quality service to all customers in your area!
