Ethos Veterinary Health Veterinary Surgical Technician in Wichita, Kansas
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgical Technician to be a part of our new Surgery Team:
This is a full time position and the ideal candidate must be flexible with scheduling and on call rotations.
Initial schedule is Tuesday through Friday 8a-6p with an on call anesthesia rotation.
Must be an RVT in the state of Kansas or equivalent licensing if from out of state. Kansas licensing will need to be initiated during onboarding.
The Surgical Technician is responsible for the nursing care and anesthesia of patients on the surgery service. They will work cohesively with ICU and ER staff for the transferring of cases, and be able to perform ICU treatments when they are needed. This position will also entail proper maintenance of all ORs and their equipment, fulfilling the role of a circulating nurse when needed, proper pack and instrumentation maintenance, and scrubbing into surgeries when needed. The ideal candidate must be proficient in medical record charting, client education, and have good time management skills. CT operation is also a part of this role, but can be trained if the candidate has no previous experience in CTs.
Candidates must be proficient at anesthesia and will be tested on the hospital’s anesthetic training levels and protocols, which must be passed in order to be considered for the position.
Compensation and Benefits:
$20-25 per hour, pending pre-hire assessment results
