Job Description

We're Hiring! Looking for an Industrial Wastewater Operator in Wichita KS.

Operation and maintenance of on-site physical chemical and biological wastewater treatment system for removal of ammonia, suspended solids, and BOD/COD.

Shift is Monday – Friday 1st Shift, 6:00am to 2:00pm, Weekend Overtime as Required to support production

Candidates must have mechanical experience.

Responsible for the treatment of influent wastewater from the facility’s manufacturing and painting operations.

Treatment includes pH adjustment, metals precipitation, chrome reduction, cyanide destruction, clarification, and

filtration per site’s EPD discharge permit.

Operator/Technician is responsible for the proper application of treatment chemistries to insure complaint

treatment.

Job Duties include:

  • Chemical off loading

  • Chemical application and dosing, including jar testing

  • Chrome reduction

  • Cyanide destruction

  • Flow adjustments

  • System monitoring and control via PLC

  • Filter press operation

  • Sludge handling

  • Data collection

  • Sampling for process control and compliance

  • Data entry into database/log sheet

  • Report writing

  • Customer interface

  • Maintenance

  • 5S Standard Compliance

  • Other duties, as assigned by supervisor
