Our VMWare+Carbon Black team is looking for a Software Architect with experience in Windows development, computer security, and development of enterprise-grade endpoint software systems. Ideal candidates have experience with filter and file system drivers, general experience with Visual Studio, the WDK and Windbg writing code in C/C++ for endpoints as well as a passion to create a world class security product. What You'll Bring
BS degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
10+ years of experience as an Architect and/or Software Engineer with an emphasis on Object-Oriented C++ development.
7 years’ experience with user-space and Windows kernel/ system-level development.
7 years’ experience writing Windows kernel drivers.

Confidence and courage to convey technical leadership to peers and stakeholders.
Experience designing and working in complex, mission-critical systems.
Expert knowledge of C++ is required.
Ability to lead in all areas of the software development process, including software design, new-feature development, testing, debugging/problem diagnosis, performance, and quality.
Flexibility to contribute to different components of the endpoint product, such as system services, instrumentation, installers and, occasionally, user-interface.
Passion for building high-quality products, experience with test-driven development, and a “test-first” mentality.
Experience and passion to develop high quality code – writing unit, functional, and system tests for verification and validation of your product code.
Design, develop and support internal tools for our build, test, and CI/CD infrastructure
Fluency in approaches to security, concurrency, debugging, performance, scalability, supportability and quality.
Strong demonstrable track record of technical curiosity and technical flexibility/agility.
What You'll Do
Leverage C/C++ programming experience to drive feature work on the Windows endpoint for the VMware Carbon Black Cloud Security product
Plan, design, develop, document and own and maintain multiple features through the complete software development lifecycle
Analyze, isolate and resolve problems in product software and drive technical solutions..
Respond to high-priority issues quickly and drive to resolution and customer satisfaction.
Lead and contribute to reviews of software artifacts and give considered, high-quality feedback.
Evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques, tools and procedures in the delivery of features.
Contribute to product direction by leading design discussions and collaborating with other architects and engineers, product management, endpoint, backend, and front-end engineers to deliver the right solution
Plan and schedule work and tasks across multiple features, manage dependencies, change and risk.
Lead projects and the delivery of multiple features to successful conclusions with a minimum of guidance.
Provide technical supervision and mentoring of one or more engineers.
Recommend new features, technologies, tools, process improvements.
Deliver technical training and training materials for other functional organizations in the company.
Proactively identify potential pitfalls in proposed software designs
Continuously improve customer experience, quality, performance, and stability of the existing products
Contribute to code reviews and give constructive, high-quality feedback.
Participate in Agile development processes and become a true team citizen.
Bonus points for:
Experience with distributed enterprise level applications (client/server)
Experience with network security, software security concepts, challenges, and paradigms a strong plus
Experience with Agile, Docker, Git, Jenkins, Continuous Integration, TDD
