Production Associate Operator: Job Description A Production Associate Operator is a key asset to plastic blow molding in a lean manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for receiving molded products from the machine and trimming excess plastic using scrappers, knifes, and other tools. Employees must practice good safety habits, be flexible and open-minded, maintain high standards for quality and minimize waste, and must be reliable and physically coordinated. All employees must meet the following physical and mental requirements, as well as the listed responsibilities of this position. Physical Requirements: 1. Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious, work involving grasping, pulling and pushing of plastic parts weighing up to 75 pounds. 2. Must be able to lift/drag/slide pallets weighing between 50-75 pounds. 3. Must be able to use and maneuver small hand tools and/or power tools. 4. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and turn body from side-to-side approximately 7 hours in an 8-hour workday. 5. Must be able to withstand extreme heat conditions reaching up to 120 degrees. 6. Must be able to read and write legibly in the completion of job-related documentation. 7. Must be able to tolerate moderate to load noise levels and wear hearing protection. 8. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment. Responsibilities: 1. Report for work, on time, for each shift. Attendance is very important. 2. Notify your supervisor at least an hour before your shift if you cannot work. 3. To be cross-trained and willing to work any of the assembly lines. 4. To be able to work at the pace of the production machines. 5. Observe and practice Safety Policies. 6. Report any unsafe working conditions. 7. Maintain quality standards. 8. Responsible for production paperwork. (filling out production tags or assembly production label for each finished goods produced. 9. Handle material to and from workstations. 10. Perform secondary work as assigned. 11. Form cartons for shipping purposes. 12. Notify Supervisor and/or Lead of equipment malfunctions or quality problems. 13. Perform rework when required. 14. Keep workstation that you are assigned to clean & orderly. 15. Additional housekeeping duties may be assigned as needed.
