Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight to the quality inspection team to ensure timely and proper product inspection for customer delivery. Reports directly to top management.
- QMS Management: Monitor, audit, and update the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure policies and procedures are current and followed.
- Quality Reporting: Provide comprehensive quality reporting and updates to plant leadership and the executive team, highlighting key metrics and improvement areas.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to enhance overall product quality and delivery.
- Policy Maintenance: Update and maintain quality policies and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100D and other certification standards.
- Reliability Assurance: Ensure the reliability and consistency of production by devising inspection procedures, monitoring operations, and supervising staff.
- Audit Leadership: Lead internal audit teams, set schedules, conduct training, and interact with third-party auditors during audits. Lead Auditor experience preferred.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee all quality aspects of the facility, including monitoring operations that affect quality, supervising inspectors, and ensuring legal standards are met.
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data, reporting malfunctions, and proposing immediate actions.
- Maintain records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation; ensure all legal standards are met and communicated effectively with external quality assurance officers.
- Complete customer surveys in a thorough and timely manner; lead interactions with visiting auditors throughout audit activities.
- Create various quality reports as needed or directed; assist QA with corrective/preventive action requests and enter data in the ERP system.
- Assist with training documentation, maintain the training matrix, and complete special projects assigned by management.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of quality experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. At least 5 years of QA leadership is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for detailed information exchange with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Must be able to interact positively and professionally to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
- Highly skilled at reading and interpreting procedure manuals, policies, prints, models, drawings, and work instructions.
- Proficiency in basic math, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and the ability to calculate proportions and percentages.
- Effective time management and task prioritization to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to learn new software quickly; ERP system power-user experience preferred.
- Clear, legible handwriting with the ability to take quick and accurate notes; strong grammar and spelling skills.
- Must be capable of utilizing and adapting to the ERP system effectively.
