Job Purpose
The Service Technician performs combustion performance testing on commercial and industrial burner products that are manufactured on-site. He or she is required to document testing irregularities/performance issues with products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Boiler/Burner Combustion experience a must
- Read and understand wiring diagram, schematics, and blueprints
- Assemble and mount burners to boilers for testing
- Pipe oil lines, gas trains, feed water systems and steam headers to boilers
- Perform mounting and reading of test instruments, recording readings and test data with knowledge of normal parameters. Maintain well organized written reports and project records in a manner that the results can be analyzed and used by others
- Maintain a neat, clean and functional work area at all times
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and standards
- Assist other Fire Test Lab technicians with any lab, service and R & D functions as required
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years electrical panel wiring, wiring diagram/blueprint and/or schematic experience. HVAC or related experience required.
- High School Diploma/GED. Trade or technical school education is a plus
- Proven mechanical abilities
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Working knowledge of power and manual hand tools such as drills, wrenches, etc
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Great customer service skills
- Ability to work overtime that may include evenings and weekends when required
