Position Summary:
This position\'s primary responsibility will be assisting in general warehousing and supply issuance for a medium security facility housing 240 adult male residents. This involves receiving vendor quotes, submitting bid sheets, placing purchase requests for stock, occasional supply runs for merchandise purchase/pickup/delivery, and receiving delivered freight. This position will be responsible for overseeing the canteen responsibilities of the medium unit and supervising any residents assigned to work in the canteen. This position will also be responsible for the distribution of supplies throughout WCF medium unit. Experience with Access and Excel are a plus. This position also serves as a backup for the Storekeeper/Canteen Operator for the minimum unit and limited coverage of the warehouse when needed.
- Receives and examines goods ordered for resident canteen, verifies receipt of items, checks the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders and receiving documents and notes discrepancies. Operates resident canteen store on established schedule adjusting upon holidays or needs of the facility. Assures canteen procedures are followed by residents coming to canteen. Supervises residents assigned to work in the canteen in the loading, unloading and distribution of goods. Assures cleanliness of canteen and canteen storage area through appropriate health, sanitation and safety practices.
{=html} <!-- --> - Assists the Procurement Officer and the Storekeeper Specialist in daily warehouse operations and supervision of residents assigned to work in the warehouse as needed.
{=html} <!-- --> - Coordinates each area of the warehouse to assure efficiency in the overall supply function including inventory management, request for quotes, creation of purchase requisitions, external and internal logistics, and inventory system maintenance.
{=html} <!-- --> - Completes inventory and stock records for the consumable supplies maintained in the Main Store Warehouse. Maintain vital accuracy of the inventory system so as not to allow the institution to run out of necessary supplies. This includes the Staff Uniform Inventory and issuance records.
{=html} <!-- --> - Must learn and follow all security measures for working with residents in a medium custody correctional facility. Maintains positive communication with outside vendors, State contractors, local merchants and internal staff regarding such things as stock available and hours of operation. Must be knowledgeable of policies, rules and regulations regarding the security and issuance of goods.
{=html} <!-- --> - Coordinates with Unit Team Manager for hire of eligible and acceptable resident workers (Canteen Porters). Evaluates the Canteen Porter\'s daily work habits and provides instruction and guidance on acceptable work behavior so they may develop appropriate skills for outside employment. Conducts weekly shakedowns of Canteen Area.
